This is great lecturing. Engaging and spontaneous, without being confusing. And informative to boot.

Well now we know where the mentally of mañana came from, Franco & Spain. Well now (2024) America is trying to start a war with Russia. Something to think about. Our ancestors came to the Americas to get away from European problems and the wars that they have been fighting for over 2000 years and since 1940s we have sent our American blood and treasure to Europe to fight, how stupid are WE. They had been dying a great job dying without us before.

6:59 Indeed, no one wins a war - everybody looses. Also, every soldier that goes into battle die - even those who return home alive.

The implementation of the Idea and the "roots" to build up an army for "Bewegungskrieg" and therefore inventing the Panzerdivisions goes back to the 1920 with Hans von Seeckt in command. It didn´t start in 35 under AH. There is sometimes a bit much lack of precision in his lesson, but it is entertaining.

I agree. WW1 still has effects on todays world. Am from Africa and my very existance is related to it as when Belgian Congo went to fight Germans in East Africa, part of the german territory in East Africa was under occupation in 1916 and then was removed and attached to Belgian Congo in 1919 (Versailles treaty)hence my grand father moving in later on in 1942 as a Congo Belgian soldier. This move lead to settling in Burundi and thus me coming to be. Even more important, the current Congo war is a direct result of border drawing between Rwanda and Congo and these borders are a result of WW1. If that partition didn t happen, Rwanda would have never existed as a country and this would have never generated the wars we have seen both in Rwanda and Burundi as well as Congo today

Well the professor is largely ignorant regarding European affairs between the interwar period, as well forgot to say the national and ethnical tensions and the will of changing the borders was a direct result if the injust treates of WW1. As well, Hungary had no direct territorial claims to Poland, but generally Czechslovakia, Romania and Yugoslavia (blatant mistake of the professor, even if Hungary lost a very tiny territory of Poland, the Polish-Hungarian cordial reslations did no end after nearly thousand years, on the contrary). Not a surprise in general Americans are very ignorant on European history affairs.
